Tree Ordinance

Tree Ordinance Number 522 was passed by the City Council of Garden Grove on September 5, 1961 which adopted the Garden Grove Municipal Code and "codified" all previous ordinances, which included those relating to the protection, maintenance, removal, and planting of trees in the public streets, parks, and other public places in Garden Grove. Ordinance Number 768 was passed February 23, 1965, which added codes involving parkway trees and landscaping in new developments. Seven additional ordinances were passed in the succeeding years between 1969 and 1980 to modify and supplement the 1961 codes.

Therefore, the Tree Ordinance currently is in the form of codes. These codes and other regulations may be accessed on the Web or reviewed at City Hall.
