Glow Up Garden Grove is City-led initiative to improve street lighting in residential areas.

By identifying and assessing opportunities for bringing street lighting to unlit residential areas, the City is developing a process to work with homeowners in addressing residential lighting needs.

Our Goals

  • Identify under-lit neighborhoods
  • Prioritize high-need areas
  • Implement safe, sustainable residential lighting solutions

Process Timeline

Identify Unlit Neighborhoods

Review City residential lighting maps and create a list of residential streets that do not have lighting.

Create Priority Street Lighting List

Prioritize Residential Street Lighting list based on crime, safety, and other data considerations.

Develop Program Process

Develop program process in compliance with Prop 218 guidelines, Southern California Edison, and existing City processes. Calculate lighting installation costs and create an implementation timeline.

Program Implementation

Conduct outreach to community members and raise program awareness. Identify homeowner interest and follow priority list in street lighting installation process.
