On April 26, 2016, following several community meetings and a public hearing, the Garden Grove City Council unanimously approved public submission District Map #1. On May 10, 2016, the City adopted the Ordinance No. 2866 to implement the new voting district map and elections for November 2016. Following the 2020 Census, the City began the redistricting process that included a community meeting and three public hearings and adopted Ordinance No. 2932 on March 22, 2022, keeping the same District Map #1 that was adopted in 2016. The General Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, for the following Offices: Mayor at Large; Council District 1; Council District 3; and Council District 4.
