Garden Grove Police Department - DUI Checkpoints

On December 17 and December 30, the Garden Grove Police Department will conduct two driving under the influence (DUI) checkpoints from 9:00 p.m. until 3:00 a.m. at an undisclosed location within the City of Garden Grove.

Santa Rita Avenue to Close for Jingle Jam, December 9

On Friday, December 9, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Santa Rita Avenue, between Winton Street and St. Mark Street, in Garden Grove, will be closed for the annual Jingle Jam holiday event. There will also be no parking on Vanguard Avenue, between Winton Street and St. Mark Street.

Police Chief to Retire at End of Year

Garden Grove Police Chief Tom DaRé has notified Garden Grove City Manager Scott Stiles of his decision to retire from the City of Garden Grove, after 32 years of service, three and-a-half-years as police chief. His official retirement date is December 31, 2022.

City Hall Closed, No Street Sweeping on Thanksgiving

In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, Garden Grove City Hall and the H. Louis Lake Senior Center will be closed on Thursday, November 24, 2022, and on Friday, November 25, 2022. No street sweeping services will be provided on Thursday, November 24, 2022.

In observance of the Veterans Day holiday, Garden Grove City Hall and the H. Louis Lake Senior Center will be closed on Friday, November 11, 2022. No street sweeping services will be provided on the holiday.

City to Resume Water Shut-Offs, Late Fees for Non-Payments

On December 31, 2021, the State of California ended the water shutoff moratorium. Despite the state ending the moratorium, the City of Garden Grove continued providing water service to customers with delinquent accounts and waiving late fees, which will now end on Saturday, December 31, 2022.

Community Invited to Presentation on Organics Recycling, Receive Free Kitchen Pail

Free Sand Bags for Residents
