2nd Annual Art in the Park

For a second year, the City, in collaboration with the Garden Grove Unified School District (GGUSD), will transform Village Green park into an outdoor, interactive art festival for the 2nd Annual Art in the Park. The community is invited to attend the free event on Saturday, March 7, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Village Green park, located at 12732 Main Street. Event activities include:

Visual Arts

42nd annual First Impressions Student Art Exhibit

GGUSD’s 42nd annual First Impressions Student Art Exhibit, showcasing the artistic talents of local K-12th students, will be located at the Garden Grove Courtyard Center, in Village Green park, at 12732 Main Street. Gallery hours are:
Saturday, March 7, 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. | Monday, March 9, 8:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m.
Tuesday, March 10, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. | Wednesday, March 11, 8:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m.
Thursday, March 12, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. | Friday, March 13, 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

RE:IMAGINE Letter Installation

A 6-foot high by 50-foot long temporary art installation of the word "RE:IMAGINE," designed by GGUSD intermediate and high school students, will be on display at Village Green park from Monday, March 2 through Monday, March 16.

Classic Car Canvas

Paint a mural on a classic car, provided by Garden Grove's Old Grove Auto. Paint and brushes will be provided.

Art in Motion for Kids

A unique outdoor art studio, designed to give youth the opportunity to explore their creativity with watercolors. Easel, paper, watercolors and brushes will be provided. Participants are welcome to take home their art.

LEGO® Creation Station

Build your own LEGO® creation with LUGOLA (LEGO® User Group of OC and LA). Take photos with custom-made LEGO® displays and receive a free LEGO® miniature figure, courtesy of LUGOLA.

Woven Art

Weave your way to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Garden Grove's woven art booth where you can create artistic yarn work. Participants are welcome to take home their creation.

DIY Mini-Koinobori (Japanese Flying Carp Kite)

Join GGUSD alumna Tiffany Le as she brings Japanese culture to Art in the Park with a DIY mini-koinobori activity, also known as a Japanese flying carp kite. Participants are welcome to take home their mini-koinobori.

Garden Grove Tree Art Contest

In an effort to enhance Garden Grove's urban forest, local K-12th graders are invited to participate in the Garden Grove Tree Art Contest by drawing or painting existing or future trees in the city.

Culinary Arts

No-Bake Culinary Class

Channel your inner chef by creating a no-bake treat, led by the owner of Garden Grove's Raw Baby Desserts.
Session times are 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Each session is limited to 50 participants and is first-come, first-serve basis.

Paint & Sip in the Park hosted by SteelCraft Garden Grove's Beachwood Brewing

Experience plein air painting of Garden Grove's iconic Tower on the Green clocktower, while enjoying a beverage from SteelCraft Garden Grove's Beachwood Brewing.
Cost to participate is $15 per person and includes all materials and one specialty craft beer or one non-alcoholic beverage. Sessions are limited to 50 participants, and will be offered at 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Online registration must be made by March 3, at eventbrite.com

Magic Mike's Pizza

Gourmet pizza by the slice and other bites from Magic Mike's Pizza will be available for purchase.
