PLANTING SEEDS OF HOPE PROJECT: 2018 HELEN PUTMAN AWARD OF EXCELLENCE WINNER

In April of 2016, the committee shifted its focus from short-term, small-scale residential projects, to a more long-term, large-scale outlook that targets areas containing both residential and commercial zones. After extensive research of crime trends, community issues, and commercial redevelopment opportunities located within the CDBG designated areas, the NIC selected the Palma Vista/ El Dorado neighborhood and commercial center located at Euclid Street and Katella Avenue as our target area to improve.
