Phillip Nguyen

Biography

A refugee from Vietnam who fled the war-torn country as a teenager in 1975, Council Member Nguyen arrived in the United States, living in a military refugee camp in Pennsylvania. There he was adopted by a family who then relocated to Florida, where he finished high school. As a young adult, he moved across the country, relocating to California in search of better job opportunities.

Council Member Nguyen has worked as a public accountant and tax practitioner since 1996, and also teaches language at Giac Ly Temple. He previously worked as an engineer at Allen Bradley Company and Rockwell International, and as a broker/agent for N.P. Phillip Company in both real estate and insurance.

Together with his wife Jennifer, Council Member Nguyen has been active in public service for more than 15 years, having organized a variety of community events.

He presently serves as Vice President of the General Association of The Development of World Martial Arts. He also acts as Chief Editor of World Martial Arts and Literature.
