City Hosts Free Compost Giveaway February 28

On Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., or until supplies run out, the City of Garden Grove and Republic Services will host the annual Compost Giveaway, offering residents up to six bags of nutrient-rich compost for free. The event will be held at the Garden Grove Municipal Service Center, located at 13802 Newhope Street. The event is open to Garden Grove residents only. Proof of residency is required.

Main Street to Close for Upcoming 3-Day Community Event

This Friday, February 13, 2026, at 6:00 a.m., a portion of Historic Main Street, from north of The Gem Theatre (12852 Main Street) to Stanford Avenue, will be closed for the Flower Street on Historic Main Street event. The closure will remain in effect until 4:00 a.m. on Monday, February 16, 2026. During the street closure, parking on Historic Main Street will be restricted. Pedestrian access will remain available, and businesses will remain open.

Start, Fund, and Grow in Garden Grove - Webinar

Start, Fund, and Grow in Garden Grove is a collaborative informational webinar designed to help Garden Grove-based entrepreneurs and small business owners access capital and the support needed to grow and thrive.

Hosted in partnership with the City of Garden Grove, the Orange County Inland Empire Small Business Development Center, and Grow America. This session will highlight funding opportunities available through the MicroBiz and Grow Garden Grove Fund programs, along with no-cost technical assistance and capital access resources.

City of Garden Grove Facilities and Services Schedule on Presidents Day

In observance of the Presidents Day holiday, the City of Garden Grove will follow the schedule below for its facilities and services on Monday, February 16, 2026:

Garden Grove City Hall

• Garden Grove City Hall will be closed.

Resource Centers

• The Garden Grove Community Meeting Center, H. Louis Lake Senior Center, and Magnolia Park Family Resource Center will be closed.

Recreational Facilities

• Atlantis Play Center will be closed.

Mayor's Prayer Breakfast Returns to Garden Grove February 26

The City of Garden Grove invites residents, faith leaders, and community members to attend the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at the Garden Grove Community Meeting Center, 11300 Stanford Avenue.

“Garden Grove is strongest when we come together with open hearts and a shared commitment to compassion and service,” said Mayor Stephanie Klopfenstein. “The Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast is a meaningful opportunity to pause and reflect.”

Youth Baseball Parade to Cause Road Closures on February 7

On Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., several streets in Garden Grove will be temporarily closed for the West Garden Grove Youth Baseball Opening Day parade.

Streets affected include the following:
• Lampson Avenue, from Valley View Street to Lamplighter Street
• Springdale Street, from Stanford Avenue to Belgrave Avenue.
• Cerulean Avenue
• Topaz Street
• Trinette Street
• Amethyst Street
• Picket Avenue
• Taylor Circle
• Popular Street

Garden Grove Welcomes South Korean Students Through Sister City Student Exchange Program

The City of Garden Grove is pleased to welcome ten high school students from Anyang, Republic of Korea, as part of the Sister City Association of Garden Grove’s Student Exchange Program. The students will arrive on Saturday, January 24, 2026, for a nine-day stay in Garden Grove with local host families.

During their visit, the students will meet Garden Grove Mayor Stephanie Klopfenstein and members of the Garden Grove City Council, tour Garden Grove Unified School District high schools, and visit cultural and educational attractions throughout Orange County and Los Angeles.
