National Night Out 2025 - Garden Grove Police Department

The Garden Grove Police Department invites the community to National Night Out, a free community-building event featuring giveaways, live demonstrations, and more!

Parking is available at the following locations:

  • Healthy Aging Center Acacia – 11391 Acacia Parkway
  • First Baptist Church – 12761 Euclid Street

April 12 Last Compost Giveaway for 2025

On Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the City of Garden Grove and Republic Services will host the last Compost Giveaway for 2025. Residents can obtain up to six bags of nutrient-rich compost for free, until supplies run out. The event will be held at the Garden Grove Municipal Service Center, located at 13802 Newhope Street. The event is open to Garden Grove residents only. Proof of residency is required.

Join Garden Grove City Council Member Tran for a "Walk & Talk" Around District 3

Get to know your elected officials and enjoy an active morning with neighbors and friends by joining Garden Grove City Council Member Cindy Ngoc Tran for a “Walk & Talk” in District 3, on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Garden Grove Mayor Stephanie Klopfenstein and City Manager Lisa Kim will also join the walk.

Nominate Your Front Yard for Recognition and Chance to Win Home Depot Gift Card

The City of Garden Grove reminds homeowners to spruce up their home’s front yards for Garden Grove Gems, a home beautification program that recognizes residents for their home’s outstanding curb appeal. Residents can nominate their homes online from Tuesday, April 1 through Thursday, April 24 at ggcity.org/gems. From all of the nominations received, four will be selected at random to receive $100 Home Depot gift cards. Gift card winners will be announced the week of Monday, April 28.

New Regulations in Effect for Oversized Vehicle Parking

The Garden Grove City Council has adopted an ordinance to further regulate the parking of oversized vehicles to enhance public safety and maintain neighborhood aesthetics. The updated regulations, now in effect, require oversized vehicles parked on public streets to have a valid, City-issued permit, available at no cost.

Ordinance No. 2957 revises the sections of the Garden Grove Municipal Code pertaining to wide vehicles and trailers, and recreational vehicles. The following oversized vehicle restrictions are now in effect:

National Night Out in Garden Grove

It may have looked like a party outside the Garden Grove Police Department Headquarters on Acacia Parkway and it was. National Night Out is a national event promoted by local police departments to build and reinforce relationships within the community.
