Heavy Traffic During Garden Grove Tet Festival

Beginning Friday, January 31, 2025 through Sunday, February 2, 2025, the Tet Festival will take place in Garden Grove Park, located at 9301 Westminster Blvd. During the three-day festival, limited road access, and additional pedestrian and car traffic is anticipated in the immediate area. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and consider alternate routes to avoid delays.

Parking will not be available at Garden Grove Park. Limited parking can be found at the following locations on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Guests will need to walk from these parking lots to the event.

Main Street to Close for Upcoming 2-Day Community Event

On Friday, January 24, 2025 at 9:00 p.m., Historic Main Street will close and remain closed through 9:00 a.m. on Monday, January 27, 2025, for the Flower Street event. Parking on Historic Main Street will be restricted during that time. Historic Main Street will be accessible to pedestrians, and businesses will remain open.

The Friday Night Car Show scheduled for Friday, January 24, 2025 will proceed as scheduled.

The Flower Street event will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 through Sunday, January 26, 2025.

Garden Grove has a New Mayor and Three New Councilmembers!

Stephanie Klopfenstein is the newly elected Mayor of the City of Garden Grove. She is the first female elected Mayor in the City's history. Phillip Nguyen is sworn in as the Council Member representing District 2. It's part of his American Dream. Yesenia Muñeton wants to impact the community in a positive way from District 5 and Ariana Arestegui is ready to hit the ground running as representative of District 6. They join Councilmembers George Brietigam, Cindy Tran and Joe DoVinh.

City Hall Closed, No Street Sweeping on Martin Luther King Jr. Day

In observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday, Garden Grove City Hall and the H. Louis Lake Senior Center will be closed on Monday, January 20, 2025. Street sweeping services will not be provided on the holiday, and will resume the next day. Trash pick-up will not be interrupted.

Student Exchange Program Brings South Korean High School Students to Garden Grove

The City of Garden Grove is pleased to welcome 10 high school students from Anyang, Republic of Korea, as part of the Sister City Association of Garden Grove’s Student Exchange Program. The students will arrive on Saturday, January 11, 2025 to begin a 9-day stay in Garden Grove with local host families.

During their stay, the students will meet Garden Grove Mayor Stephanie Klopfenstein and the Garden Grove City Council, tour Garden Grove Unified School District high schools, and visit areas of interest in Orange County and Los Angeles.
