The guide provides a wide variety of programs, classes, and activities for all ages through April 2025. City Now Accepting Online Applications for Garden Grove Police Positions
Are you, or someone you know interested in a career of courage, courtesy, and commitment? The City of Garden Grove is seeking qualified candidates who are service-oriented and passionate about making a difference in the community to join the Garden Grove Police Department. The City is now accepting online applications for sworn and non-sworn positions with the Garden Grove Police Department. The deadline to apply is Monday, March 3, 2025. City Hall Closed, No Street Sweeping On Presidents Day
In observance of the Presidents Day holiday, Garden Grove City Hall and the H. Louis Lake Senior Center will be closed on Monday, February 17, 2025. Street sweeping services will not be provided on the holiday and will resume the next day. Trash pick-up will remain as scheduled.

Free Compost Giveaway To Garden Grove Residents
On Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., or until supplies run out, the City of Garden Grove and Republic Services will host the annual Compost Giveaway, offering residents up to six bags of nutrient-rich compost for free. The event will be held at the Garden Grove Municipal Service Center, located at 13802 Newhope Street. The event is open to Garden Grove residents only. Proof of residency is required.
Join Garden Grove City Council Member Brietigam For a "Walk & Talk" Around District 1
Get to know your elected officials and enjoy an active morning with neighbors and friends by joining Garden Grove City Council Member George Brietigam for a “Walk & Talk” in District 1, on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Garden Grove Mayor Stephanie Klopfenstein and City Manager Lisa Kim will also join the walk.

Water Quality Notification
Last night, the City’s water system experienced a high volume of sand infiltration at a well site affecting the lower east side of Garden Grove. The City received reports of water quality issues involving murky and discolored water across areas north of Westminster Avenue, south of Garden Grove Boulevard, east of Brookhurst Street, and west of Lewis Street.
Spruce Up Your Front Yard for Garden Grove Gems Home Beautification Program
The City of Garden Grove invites homeowners to start sprucing up their home’s front yards for Garden Grove Gems, a home beautification program that recognizes residents for their home’s outstanding curb appeal. Residents can nominate their homes online from Tuesday, April 1 through Thursday, April 24. Online voting will take place from Monday, May 5 to Monday, May 19. Winning homes will receive citywide recognition with homeowners invited to an awards reception hosted by the Garden Grove City Council.
Temporary Road Closures for Upcoming Disneyland Half Marathon
The annual runDisney event, the Disneyland Half Marathon, takes place on Sunday, February 2, 2025. Thousands of runners, joggers, and walkers are expected to participate in the 13.1-mile event, which encompasses various streets in Anaheim and Garden Grove. Streets affected will experience temporary road closures between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
Please note the following road closures in Garden Grove. Commuters are encouraged to plan accordingly.
Transit Equity Day
On Tuesday, Feb. 4, OCTA will offer free rides all day on fixed-route buses. No ticket required!
Transit Equity Day commemorates the birthday of civil rights icon Rosa Parks, whose 1955 refusal to give up her seat on the bus led to the U.S. Supreme Court ruling that segregation on transit was unconstitutional.
