City of Garden Grove Facilities and Services Schedule on Thanksgiving Day Holiday

In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, Garden Grove City Hall and the H. Louis Lake Senior Center will be closed on Thursday, November 27, 2025, and Friday, November 28, 2025.

Street sweeping services will not be provided on the holiday and will resume the following day. If your trash pickup is scheduled for Thursday or Friday, the service will be delayed by one day.

Black Friday Goes BiGG Returns With Annual Holiday Opportunities to Win

Shoppers who spend $50 or more in Garden Grove from Black Friday, November 28, through Thursday, December 18, will have the opportunity to enter a drawing for a $500 or $250 cash prize, a one-night stay at the Great Wolf Lodge, or a restaurant gift certificate, as part of the City’s annual Black Friday Goes BiGG campaign. The campaign is part of the City’s Buy in Garden Grove (BiGG) shop local program.

50 Years of Little Saigon's Resilience

Garden Grove recently hosted a milestone celebration at the Great Wolf Lodge Southern of Southern California, honoring 50 years of Little Saigon’s resilience and the success of Vietnamese refugees who turned hardship into opportunity. The event featured business workshops, food tastings, and cultural performances, highlighting the contributions of Vietnamese Americans and the strength of a diverse community coming together to support local entrepreneurs. Garden Grove Invites Community To Showcase Holiday Decorations

The City of Garden Grove invites community members to spread holiday cheer by submitting a recent, unedited photo of their house, condo, or apartment’s exterior holiday decorations. Submissions will be featured in the City’s online gallery, Garden Grove Holiday Lights.

Photos may be submitted at www.ggcity.org/holiday-lights starting on Monday, November 24.

Celebrate the Holiday Season at Annual Winter in the Grove Event

Experience holiday sights, sounds, and festivities at Garden Grove’s annual Winter in the Grove community event on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., in Village Green Park, located at 12732 Main Street. Entry to the event is free.

The “Snowtopia” attraction will feature free, unlimited snow slides crafted from 50 tons of snow.

End-of-Year Garden Grove City Council Meeting Schedule

In observance of the Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day holidays, the regular Garden Grove City Council meetings scheduled for Tuesday, November 11, Tuesday, November 25, and Tuesday, December 23 are cancelled.

A regular Garden Grove City Council meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the Garden Grove Community Meeting Center, located at 11300 Stanford Avenue.

The final Garden Grove City Council meeting of the year will take place on Tuesday, December 9.

Free Bulky Item Drop Off, Household Battery Collection, And Paper Shredding At Garden Grove Public Works on November 8

The City of Garden Grove and Garden Grove Sanitary District, in collaboration with Republic Services, will host a final community cleanup event for 2025, offering residents the opportunity to dispose of bulky items, recycle household batteries, and obtain paper shredding services for free. The event will take place on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at Garden Grove Public Works, located at 13802 Newhope Street.
