Remembering Garden Grove Police Corporal Han Cho

Han Cho was a father, a son, a brother and a friend. He was a bright light as a Corporal on the Garden Grove Police Department. Words can't describe the loss we feel that Corporal Cho was taken from us in an off-duty motorcycle accident. A ceremony was held outside Garden Grove's Community Meeting Center where a plaque and bridge were dedicated in his memory. GGTV3 Reporter Angela Cranon was at the ceremony and shares this story.

Home Repair Grants Available December 2

The City of Garden Grove announces new funding for the Home Repair Program beginning Monday, December 2, 2024. The grant program assists qualified low-income Garden Grove residents receive up to $5,000 to make home improvements. These grants do not need to be repaid to the City and are designed for minor home repairs. The homeowner is required to contribute a minimum of $500 of their own funds towards the repairs, and major repairs to the home that are above $5,000 will not be considered for the Home Repair Program.

Temporary Playground Closure at Magnolia Park Starting December 2

The City of Garden Grove announces the temporary closure of the playground at Magnolia Park, located at 11402 Magnolia Street, beginning Monday, December 2, 2024, at 7:30 a.m., with the project tentatively expected to be completed by Friday, December 6, 2024. The closure will allow for the installation of a 4-foot-high perimeter fence around the playground to ensure safety.

During this time, the playground will remain closed to the public. However, the remainder of Magnolia Park will stay open.

Buy in Garden Grove for the Holidays for Chances to Win Cash, Prizes

Shoppers who spend $50 or more in Garden Grove, from Black Friday, November 29 through Thursday, December 19, can enter a drawing to win a $500 or $250 cash prize, a 1-night stay at the Great Wolf Lodge, or a restaurant gift card, during the City’s end-of-year Black Friday Goes BiGG campaign. The campaign is part of the City’s Buy in Garden Grove (BiGG) shop-local program.

For every $50 in total purchases from businesses in Garden Grove, including restaurants, gas stations, and grocery stores, shoppers can receive one raffle ticket toward a cash or prize drawing.

Support Local Youth and Seniors by Donating to the 26th Annual Garden Grove Holiday Drive

From now through Thursday, December 12, 2024, the community can assist local youth and seniors in need during the holidays by donating new and unwrapped toys, board games, sports equipment, gift cards, and other essential supplies to the City of Garden Grove’s 26th Annual Holiday Drive. Donations can be dropped off at:

• Buena Clinton Youth and Family Center, at 12661 Sunswept Avenue
• Magnolia Park Family Resource Center, at 11402 Magnolia Street
• H. Louis Lake Senior Center, at 11300 Stanford Avenue
• Garden Grove City Hall, at 11222 Acacia Parkway

City Launches New Business Intelligence Tool for Small Businesses

The City of Garden Grove announces the launch of a new, free online business tool, known as Garden Grove Business Analytics Insights, to provide business intelligence and market research analysis to entrepreneurs, start-ups, and existing businesses seeking to better understand the local market.
