The City of Garden Grove, along with development partner Edgemoor Infrastructure & Real Estate, celebrated a major milestone in its Civic Center Revitalization with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Garden Grove Public Safety Facility on Tuesday, September 1, 2026. Designed specifically for the needs of a modern police department, the building provides enhanced security, updated technology, improved operational and collaborative spaces, and amenities that will support the department for decades to come.

“Today marks a proud moment for Garden Grove and an important step forward for our city,” said Garden Grove Mayor Stephanie Klopfenstein. “This facility demonstrates our commitment to public safety, responsible long-term planning and a strong future for our community.”

The facility incorporates modern public safety and security features, including reinforced structural elements and specialized glazing, along with spaces designed to support emergency operations, training, collaboration, community engagement, and the day-to-day work of sworn officers and professional staff.
For the Garden Grove Police Department, the building also represents a new chapter.

“Our officers and professional staff come to work every day focused on serving this community,” said Garden Grove Police Chief Amir El-Farra. “This facility gives our team a modern home designed around that mission. It enables us to better serve Garden Grove today while also helping us recruit and prepare the next generation of public safety professionals.”

The new public safety facility is a centerpiece of the broader Garden Grove Civic Center Revitalization Project, which is creating modern civic facilities and public spaces designed to better serve residents and strengthen the heart of the community.

The September 1 celebration was an opportunity to mark the opening of the facility with City leaders, police personnel, project partners including design-builder Clark Construction and architect AC Martin, and members of the Garden Grove community.
