The City of Garden Grove is exploring opportunities to assist local businesses that may have experienced economic impacts resulting from this incident.

The Garden Grove City Council will cancel its regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, and instead convene a special meeting focused on the City’s ongoing response to the hazardous chemical emergency affecting the community.

The 66th Annual Strawberry Parade and Strawberry Stomp 5k have been postponed; However the Strawberry Festival will continue.

Garden Grove Mayor Stephanie Klopfenstein will deliver her official address at the 2026 State of the City luncheon, hosted by the Garden Grove Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the City of Garden Grove. The ticketed event takes place on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Beginning Friday, May 22 through Monday, May 25, 2026, the 66th Annual Garden Grove Strawberry Festival will take place at Village Green Park, located at 12732 Main Street. Heavy traffic and road closures are expected throughout the four-day event, and motorists are encouraged to plan ahead.

In observance of the Memorial Day holiday, the City of Garden Grove will follow the schedule below for its facilities and services on Monday, May 25, 2026:

On Tuesday, May 19, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the City of Garden Grove will host a construction industry career development panel featuring experts from the public sector, consulting, and labor trades.

The Garden Grove Police Department’s 39th Annual “Call to Duty” Memorial will take place on Thursday, May 14, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The ceremony will mark the final memorial service held in front of the current Garden Grove Police Headquarters, located at 11301 Acacia Parkway.

Now through Monday, June 1, 2026, the public is invited to vote for their favorite front yards nominated in the Garden Grove Gems, a home beautification program. To vote, visit www.ggcity.org/gems.
