Support Local Youth and Seniors by Donating to the 26th Annual Garden Grove Holiday Drive
From now through Thursday, December 12, 2024, the community can assist local youth and seniors in need during the holidays by donating new and unwrapped toys, board games, sports equipment, gift cards, and other essential supplies to the City of Garden Grove’s 26th Annual Holiday Drive. Donations can be dropped off at:
• Buena Clinton Youth and Family Center, at 12661 Sunswept Avenue
• Magnolia Park Family Resource Center, at 11402 Magnolia Street
• H. Louis Lake Senior Center, at 11300 Stanford Avenue
• Garden Grove City Hall, at 11222 Acacia Parkway
Spark of Love Holiday Toy Drive
The Orange County Fire Authority is accepting new, unwrapped toys for children in need at all 78 of their fire stations now through Friday, December 13. Additionally, OCFA and KWAVE will have several toy collection events throughout Orange County where we welcome all to bring new, unwrapped toys. City Launches New Business Intelligence Tool for Small Businesses
The City of Garden Grove announces the launch of a new, free online business tool, known as Garden Grove Business Analytics Insights, to provide business intelligence and market research analysis to entrepreneurs, start-ups, and existing businesses seeking to better understand the local market. The new business intelligence tool is available at www.ggcity.org/business-resources.
City Hall Closed, No Street Sweeping, Trash Pickup on Thanksgiving Day
In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, Garden Grove City Hall and the H. Louis Lake Senior Center will be closed on Thursday, November 28, 2024. City Hall will also be closed on Friday, November 29, 2024 due to the regular alternate Friday closure. No street sweeping services will be provided on the holiday. Streets will be swept as scheduled on all other days. Trash pickup on the holiday will be delayed by one day.
City Approves Ordinance to Ban Public Camping and Maintain Public Access
At the Tuesday, November 12, 2024 regular meeting of the Garden Grove City Council, the city council adopted an ordinance to ban camping in public places and interfering with public access. The ordinance takes effect on Thursday, December 12, 2024.
“Garden Grove is committed to providing a safe, attractive, and welcoming community for our residents, businesses, and visitors. While this ordinance provides a needed tool to address unauthorized camping, it’s part of our broader, ongoing efforts to help those in need transition off the streets,” said Garden Grove Mayor Steve Jones.
Garden Grove Police Department Holding a CDL/DUI Checkpoint November 22, 2024
On November 22, the Garden Grove Police Department will conduct a California driver’s license and driving under the influence (DUI) Checkpoint from 9:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. at an undisclosed location within the city of Garden Grove.
CDL/DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on data showing incidents of impaired driving-related crashes and arrests. The primary purpose of CDL/DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off the road.
Experience Holiday Magic at Annual Winter in the Grove Event
Enjoy holiday sights, sounds, and festivities at Garden Grove’s annual Winter in the Grove community event on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., in Village Green Park, located at 12732 Main Street. Entry to the event is free.
The “Snowtopia” attraction will feature free, unlimited snow slides crafted from 50 tons of snow.

GGTV3 reporter Angela Cranon has a story about the groundbreaking of a major project that includes a new, modern Police Building, a parking structure and a beautiful new park. A reception was held welcoming Assistant City Manager, Matt West, and Garden Grove has a new business.
