Support Local Youth and Seniors by Donating to the 26th Annual Garden Grove Holiday Drive

From now through Thursday, December 12, 2024, the community can assist local youth and seniors in need during the holidays by donating new and unwrapped toys, board games, sports equipment, gift cards, and other essential supplies to the City of Garden Grove’s 26th Annual Holiday Drive. Donations can be dropped off at:

• Buena Clinton Youth and Family Center, at 12661 Sunswept Avenue
• Magnolia Park Family Resource Center, at 11402 Magnolia Street
• H. Louis Lake Senior Center, at 11300 Stanford Avenue
• Garden Grove City Hall, at 11222 Acacia Parkway

City Launches New Business Intelligence Tool for Small Businesses

The City of Garden Grove announces the launch of a new, free online business tool, known as Garden Grove Business Analytics Insights, to provide business intelligence and market research analysis to entrepreneurs, start-ups, and existing businesses seeking to better understand the local market. The new business intelligence tool is available at www.ggcity.org/business-resources.

City Hall Closed, No Street Sweeping, Trash Pickup on Thanksgiving Day

In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, Garden Grove City Hall and the H. Louis Lake Senior Center will be closed on Thursday, November 28, 2024. City Hall will also be closed on Friday, November 29, 2024 due to the regular alternate Friday closure. No street sweeping services will be provided on the holiday. Streets will be swept as scheduled on all other days. Trash pickup on the holiday will be delayed by one day.

City Approves Ordinance to Ban Public Camping and Maintain Public Access

At the Tuesday, November 12, 2024 regular meeting of the Garden Grove City Council, the city council adopted an ordinance to ban camping in public places and interfering with public access. The ordinance takes effect on Thursday, December 12, 2024.

“Garden Grove is committed to providing a safe, attractive, and welcoming community for our residents, businesses, and visitors. While this ordinance provides a needed tool to address unauthorized camping, it’s part of our broader, ongoing efforts to help those in need transition off the streets,” said Garden Grove Mayor Steve Jones.

Garden Grove Police Department Holding a CDL/DUI Checkpoint November 22, 2024

On November 22, the Garden Grove Police Department will conduct a California driver’s license and driving under the influence (DUI) Checkpoint from 9:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. at an undisclosed location within the city of Garden Grove.

CDL/DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on data showing incidents of impaired driving-related crashes and arrests. The primary purpose of CDL/DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off the road.
