City of Garden Grove to Celebrate Ribbon Cutting for Medal of Honor Bike & Pedestrian Trail Enhancements
The City of Garden Grove invites the community to a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating new enhancements to the Medal of Honor Bike & Pedestrian Trail on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. at 12648 Nutwood St. The event will include remarks by Mayor Stephanie Klopfenstein and a ceremonial ribbon cutting recognizing recent trail improvements designed to support recreation and community connection.
This celebration marks an important milestone in the continued improvement of the Medal of Honor Bike & Pedestrian Trail. The trail serves as a place where residents and visitors can walk, ride, gather and reflect, while also recognizing the courage and sacrifice of Garden Grove’s Medal of Honor recipients.
During the event, attendees will have an opportunity to view the new trail enhancements, which include outdoor fitness equipment, trail furniture, trash receptacles, bike racks and signage. These improvements were funded in part through the Clean California Local Grant Program and were informed by public feedback gathered during community outreach, including input collected at the City’s 2024 and 2025 National Night Out event.
The project reflects the City’s broader commitment to improving parks and pathways, reducing litter, promoting public health and enhancing amenities in underserved areas. In February 2024, the Garden Grove City Council approved participation in the Clean California Local Grant Program and authorized the appropriation of $441,000 in grant funding to support these trail improvements.
Community members are encouraged to join the City in commemorating this milestone and celebrating the continued investment in one of Garden Grove’s meaningful public spaces.
