The ribbon is cut and it's time to play at the City of Garden Grove's newest playground! The aviation themed attraction was built in the middle of Garden Grove Park, west of Bolsa Grande High School and north of Westminster Boulevard. The fun zone replaces an older set of swings and climbers. It's part of a general upgrade of the park including new shelters, walkways and lighting, paid for by grant funding. The Garden Grove Unified School District introduced the adoption of the STOPit App at a workshop called, Parenting in a Digital World. The App allows students, teachers or parents to report cyber bullying or other damaging behavior anonymously. The program is part of the District's multi-faceted effort to keep schools and students safe while promoting mental health. GGTV3 Reporter Breanna Greenup was there and has this report.

The King of Rock and Roll had people all shook up on Garden Grove's Historic Main Street recently. Everywhere you looked, there was another Elvis. They were singing, dancing, posing and even barking. The 22nd Annual Elvis Festival was a feast for the Elvis lover and likely converted some new fans for the legendary singer and actor. GGTV3 Reporter Breanna Greenup laced-up her blue suede shoes for the event and shares this story.

The City of Garden Grove is serious about dealing with homelessness. A recent ribbon cutting ceremony spotlighted the newly renovated Stuart Apartment building. It's part of the City's Comprehensive Strategic Plan to end homelessness. The remodeled building, adorned with a beautiful mural, is a source of pride for the residents and the community. Winter in the Grove is pure fun, and it's right here in Garden Grove! Bring the family to Village Green Park on Saturday, December 3rd from 3 pm to 7 pm. There will be snow, crafts, photo opportunities and the lighting of the big Christmas tree. Local groups will sing and dance for your entertainment and Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there as well. The City of Garden Grove cares about your child and car seat safety! The seats can be complicated and the instructions are not always clear. The Garden Grove Police Department offers free help to parents and caregivers wanting to get this safety device installed and working properly. GGTV3 Reporter Breanna Greenup has the story of a clinic held by the GGPD as part of Child Passenger Safety Awareness Week.

Twenty-eight Support K9s from the western United States and their handlers converged on the City of Garden Grove for a 4-day conference hosted by the Garden Grove Police Department. The Support K9 program is designed to relieve stress, support mental health and hopefully prevent problems. Guide Dogs of the Desert and the Garden Grove Unified School District helped make the event a success. GGTV3 Reporter Breanna Greenup has the story.

Freedom is Never Free was produced by Garden Grove TV3 to honor our United States Veterans and their families. It was created in 2013 for a special Veteran's Day event. The program highlights the service of four men: World War ll Navy Veteran Jack Norman Gutman, Marine Sergeant Robert "Buck" Rogers, who served in Korea, Army Sergeant Roy Gleason, Vietnam, and Michael Anthony Monsoor who heroically gave his life serving in Iraq.
