The Garden Grove Community Foundation Celebrates 25 Years!

Join us for a nostalgic look back at the last 25 years of the Garden Grove Community Foundation. The Foundation provides scholarships, puts on summer concerts and events and contributes to the overall quality of life in the City. This video contains a musical collage of memories as well as a few GGTV3 stories weaved-in highlighting the organization and it's accomplishments over the last 25 years.

Garden Grove has a New City Manager

The Garden Grove Community Meeting Center is packed with people to welcome new City Manager, Lisa Kim. Kim had been serving as Assistant City Manager and Director of Community and Economic Development, and was promoted from within the organization. She says her top priorities are listening and meeting the needs and concerns of the community. GGTV3 Reporter Breanna Greenup has the story.

Garden Grove's H. Louis Lake Senior Center

Garden Grove's H. Louis Lake Senior Center is the place to be for the 55-and-older crowd in and around Garden Grove. With a wide variety of activities and opportunities, the Center is a home away from home for many in the community. Staff at the H. Louis Lake Senior Center have fun working with the members and some of the members also enjoy volunteering there. GGTV3 Reporter Angela Cranon has the story.

Garden Grove Swears In New Council and Spotlights Retiring Police Chief

A capacity crowd looked on as the Mayor, one reelected Councilmember and two new Councilmembers were sworn in. The City of Garden Grove welcomed Mayor Steve Jones for his fourth term and returning District 1 Councilmember, George Brietigam for his second. New to the Council are District 3 Councilmember Cindy Tran and District 4 Councilmember Joe DoVinh. The evening also featured a Community Spotlight honoring retiring Police Chief Tom DaRe. New Playground at Garden Grove Park

The ribbon is cut and it's time to play at the City of Garden Grove's newest playground! The aviation themed attraction was built in the middle of Garden Grove Park, west of Bolsa Grande High School and north of Westminster Boulevard. The fun zone replaces an older set of swings and climbers. It's part of a general upgrade of the park including new shelters, walkways and lighting, paid for by grant funding. STOPit App Introduced by Garden Grove Unified School District

The Garden Grove Unified School District introduced the adoption of the STOPit App at a workshop called, Parenting in a Digital World. The App allows students, teachers or parents to report cyber bullying or other damaging behavior anonymously. The program is part of the District's multi-faceted effort to keep schools and students safe while promoting mental health. GGTV3 Reporter Breanna Greenup was there and has this report.
