Shoppers who spend $50 or more in Garden Grove from Black Friday, November 28, through Thursday, December 18, will have the opportunity to enter a drawing for a $500 or $250 cash prize, a one-night stay at the Great Wolf Lodge, or a restaurant gift certificate, as part of the City’s annual Black

The City of Garden Grove invites community members to spread holiday cheer by submitting a recent, unedited photo of their house, condo, or apartment’s exterior holiday decorations. Submissions will be featured in the City’s online gallery, Garden Grove Holiday Lights.

Experience holiday sights, sounds, and festivities at Garden Grove’s annual Winter in the Grove community event on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., in Village Green Park, located at 12732 Main Street. Entry to the event is free.

In observance of the Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day holidays, the regular Garden Grove City Council meetings scheduled for Tuesday, November 11, Tuesday, November 25, and Tuesday, December 23 are cancelled.

The City of Garden Grove and Garden Grove Sanitary District, in collaboration with Republic Services, will host a final community cleanup event for 2025, offering residents the opportunity to dispose of bulky items, recycle household batteries, and obtain paper shredding services for free.

In observance of the Veterans Day holiday, Tuesday, November 11, 2025, the City of Garden Grove and the H. Louis Lake Senior Center will be closed. Street sweeping services will not be provided on the holiday and will resume the following day. Trash pick-up will remain as scheduled.

The H. Louis Lake Senior Center will temporarily close from Monday, October 27, through Friday, November 7, 2025, and tentatively on Monday, November 10, through Friday, November 14, 2025 to allow for a planned roof replacement project at the Senior Center.

Prospective homebuyers are encouraged to attend an upcoming HUD-approved homebuyer education course, which is required to qualify for the City of Garden Grove’s First-Time Home Buyer Program.

Garden Grove voters are encouraged to participate in the statewide special election on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, to vote on Proposition 50, the Use of Legislative Congressional Redistricting Map Amendment.

On Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Vanguard Avenue, between Winton Street and St. Mark Street, will close for the Chili Cook-Off and Car Show community event. Motorists are asked to plan accordingly to avoid delays.
