September is Pedestrian Safety Month in California. The Garden Grove Police Department encourages everyone on our roads to care for one another and keep pedestrians safe from crashes and injuries.

As the summer travel season wraps up, the Garden Grove Police Department reminds drivers to stay safe and be responsible by never driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

The City of Garden Grove is now accepting online applications for sworn and non-sworn positions for the Garden Grove Police Department. The deadline to apply is Monday, September 25, 2023. To apply online, visit ggpd.org/join.

Seniors are invited to attend the H. Louis Lake Senior Center’s Resource Fair and Vaccine Clinic on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., located at 11300 Stanford Avenue. Admission and parking are free.

On Saturday, September 30, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., the Garden Grove Sanitary District and Republic Services will host a shredding and community cleanup day at the H. Louis Lake Senior Center’s east parking lot, located at 11300 Stanford Avenue.

In observance of the Labor Day holiday, Garden Grove City Hall and the H. Louis Lake Senior Center will be closed on Monday, September 4, 2023. Street sweeping services will not be provided on the holiday, and will resume the next day.

The Fall 2023 Garden Grove Parks and Recreation Guide, the primary source for fall programs, classes, activities, and special events, is now available at ggparksandrec.com.

The City of Garden Grove invites local teens, ages 13-17, to join the Garden Grove Teen Action Collaborative (GGTAC), a program empowering teens to become future leaders in their community.

Due to excessive high-temperatures, the City of Garden Grove’s cooling center is open today, August 28, 2023 through tomorrow, August 29, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

UPDATE 8/21/23, 11:00 A.M.: The City's H. Louis Lake Senior Center will be closed on Monday, August 21 and Tuesday, August 22 due to flooding. Current senior center members may pick up cold pack Meals On Wheels lunches at the senior center at 11:30 a.m.
