City Hall Closed, No Street Sweeping on Independence Day

In observance of the Independence Day holiday, Garden Grove City Hall and the H. Louis Lake Senior Center will be closed on Tuesday, July 4, 2023. Street sweeping services will not be provided on the holiday, and will resume the next day. Trash pick-up will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.

City Reminds Community of $1,000 Fine for Illegal Firework Use

The City of Garden Grove is raising awareness of illegal firework use and the enforcement of the city’s zero tolerance policy in the form of a $1,000 fine.

“On July 4, additional Garden Grove police sergeants, officers, and administrative staff will be dedicated to firework enforcement throughout the city to apprehend and cite individuals who are caught using or possessing illegal fireworks,” said Garden Grove Police Chief Amir El-Farra.

Walk-Ins Accepted for Wednesday's Workforce Activation & Readiness Program Workshop

The City of Garden Grove’s Workforce Activation & Readiness Program workshop is only a week away and is now open to walk-ins along with online registrations. The free workshop takes place on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at the Garden Grove Community Meeting Center A/B Room, 11300 Stanford Avenue. WARP is an employment development program that provides the tools and skills needed to secure and maintain gainful employment.

Garden Grove, Fountain Valley, Westminster Break Ground for Central Cities Navigation Center

Yesterday, the City of Garden Grove, in partnership with the Cities of Fountain Valley and Westminster broke ground for the Central Cities Navigation Center, a referral-based, transitional facility offering emergency housing and wrap-around services to individuals experiencing homelessness from any of the three cities. Located in an existing building at 13871 West Street in Garden Grove, the Central Cities Navigation Center is anticipated to open in Spring 2024.

Garden Grove Police Department Holding DUI Checkpoint

The Garden Grove Police Department will conduct a driving under the influence (DUI) Checkpoint on June 23, 2023, from 9:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. at an undisclosed location.

DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on data showing incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off the road.

City Promotes Safe and Sane Firework Use, Warnings of Increased Patrol

As July 4 approaches, the City of Garden Grove, in collaboration with the Garden Grove Police Department and Orange County Fire Authority, reminds the community to take necessary precautions to ensure a safe and memorable celebration. Only safe and sane fireworks bearing the California State Fire Marshal seal may be discharged in Garden Grove on July 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., on private property only.

Garden Grove Home Beautification Winners Announced

The City of Garden Grove announces the winners of Garden Grove Gems, a home beautification program that recognizes residents for their outstanding curb appeal efforts. Winners were selected by district based on the number of online votes each nominated home received.
