City Hall Closed, No Street Sweeping on Labor Day
In observance of the Labor Day holiday, Garden Grove City Hall and the H. Louis Lake Senior Center will be closed on Monday, September 4, 2023. Street sweeping services will not be provided on the holiday, and will resume the next day. Trash pick-up will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.

Garden Grove Teen Action Collaborative (GGTAC) - First Meeting
The City of Garden Grove invites local teens, ages 13-17, to join the Garden Grove Teen Action Collaborative (GGTAC), a program empowering teens to become future leaders in their community. GGTAC will meet every third Thursday of the month, beginning Thursday, September 21, 2023 through Thursday, May 17, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Meetings will be held at the Garden Grove Community Meeting Center, located at 11300 Stanford Avenue.

Fall Parks & Recreation Guide Now Available
The Fall 2023 Garden Grove Parks and Recreation Guide, the primary source for fall programs, classes, activities, and special events, is now available at ggparksandrec.com. Programs run from Friday, September 1, 2023, through Sunday, December 31, 2023. Residents and visitors are encouraged to register for classes in advance to ensure placement.

City's Cooling Centers Open Today and Tomorrow
Due to excessive high-temperatures, the City of Garden Grove’s cooling center is open today, August 28, 2023 through tomorrow, August 29, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The cooling center is located at the Garden Grove Sports and Recreation Center, located at 13641 Deodara Drive, in Garden Grove Park.
All ages are welcome to enjoy the center’s air-conditioned accommodations. Visitors will have access to the center’s lobby and restrooms. Food will not be available. No pets are allowed except for service animals.
Street Medicine Program in Garden Grove
The City of Garden Grove is partnering with CalOptima Health to offer the first street medicine program in Orange County. This forward thinking program brings healthcare to those who need it most. The service along with Be Well OC and the Central Cities Navigation Center present a multi-faceted effort to help the unhoused and improve the quality of life in the City of Garden Grove. The Garden Grove Community Foundation Celebrates 25 Years!
Join us for a nostalgic look back at the last 25 years of the Garden Grove Community Foundation. The Foundation provides scholarships, puts on summer concerts and events and contributes to the overall quality of life in the City. UPDATE 8/21/23, 11:00 A.M.: The City's H. Louis Lake Senior Center will be closed on Monday, August 21 and Tuesday, August 22 due to flooding. Rancho Alamitos High School Student Named "The Voice of Garden Grove 2023"
“The Voice of Garden Grove 2023” title was awarded on August 3rd, the last show of the Free Summer Concert Series at Eastgate Park, to Rebecca Trejo of Rancho Alamitos High School. Trejo treated the crowd of concert-goers to a performance of “A Change Is Gonna Come” by Sam Cooke, and was awarded a $500 scholarship, along with an additional $500 for her school’s choir program.
Garden Grove Police Department Holding DUI Checkpoint
The Garden Grove Police Department will conduct a driving under the influence (DUI) Checkpoint on August 18, 2023, from 9:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. at an undisclosed location.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on data showing incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off the road.
