City Hall Closed, No Street Sweeping on Memorial Day
In observance of the Memorial Day holiday, Garden Grove City Hall and the H. Louis Lake Senior Center will be closed on Monday, May 29, 2023. Street sweeping services will not be provided on the holiday, and will resume the next day. Trash pick-up will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.

City Recognizes over 70 Local College Graduates
On Tuesday, May 23, 2023, the City of Garden Grove recognized over 70 residents at the 2023 Garden Grove College Graduates’ Reception for their achievements in higher education. Graduates received local, state, and federal certificates of recognition, and over $8,000 in opportunity cash prizes, gift cards, and services.
During the private event, Garden Grove Mayor Steve Jones noted the 10th anniversary of the event and encouraged graduates to build their careers and raise their families in Garden Grove.
The City of Garden Grove Recycles Organics!
The City of Garden Grove recycles our organic waste. With the passing of California's Senate Bill 1383, we all should do our part to keep organic waste out of landfills and back into our gardens. The City is working with Republic Services to meet requirements and help our environment. This animated feature explains.
Garden Grove's H. Louis Lake Senior Center
Garden Grove's H. Louis Lake Senior Center is the place to be for the 55-and-older crowd in and around Garden Grove. With a wide variety of activities and opportunities, the Center is a home away from home for many in the community. Staff at the H. Louis Lake Senior Center have fun working with the members and some of the members also enjoy volunteering there. GGTV3 Reporter Angela Cranon has the story.
Deadline Approaching for Foods of Garden Grove Social Media Challenge
This Sunday, May 28, 2023 is the last day to submit videos for the Foods of Garden Grove Social Media Challenge, a unique opportunity for local high school students to be featured on the Foods of Garden Grove social platforms. From all the submissions received, three will be selected at random to receive $100 gift cards. To participate, students must be enrolled in the Garden Grove Unified School District, be in grades 10th-12th, and create a 30- to 60-second foodie video at a Foods of Garden Grove eatery or café.
Registration Now Open for City's Workforce Activation & Readiness Program Workshop
The City of Garden Grove is offering a Workforce Activation & Readiness Program (WARP) Workshop on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at the Garden Grove Community Meeting Center A/B Room, 11300 Stanford Avenue. WARP is an employment development program that provides the tools and skills needed to secure and maintain gainful employment.
The workshop will include service provider presentations from OCAPICA and StandUp for Kids; a partner presentation from the LA/OC Building and Construction Trades Council; a Q & A; and resource fair.
Garden Grove Police Department - Click It or Ticket Campaign
The Garden Grove Police Department reminds everyone taking a trip to visit friends or family over the Memorial Day Weekend to always buckle up and keep children in child safety seats.
This year’s Click It or Ticket campaign is from May 22-June 4. During this time, the Garden Grove Police Department will have additional officers on patrol actively looking for drivers and passengers who are not wearing a seat belt. This includes vehicles where children are not secured in child safety seats.
