Join Garden Grove City Council Members for a "Walk & Talk" Around District 5 and 6
Get to know your elected officials and enjoy an active morning with neighbors and friends by joining the Garden Grove City Council for our next two “Walk & Talk” events in City Council District 5 and 6. Council member Yesenia Muñeton will host a “Walk & Talk” on Saturday, June 7, 2025, in District 5, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m, and Council member Ariana Aristegui will host a walk on Saturday, June 14, 2025, in District 6, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Garden Grove Mayor Stephanie Klopfenstein and City Manager Lisa Kim will also participate in the walks.
Deadline Approaching for Local College Grads to Receive Recognition, Win Cash Prizes

Garden Grove residents graduating from a college or university this year are invited to attend the annual Garden Grove College Graduates’ Reception on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, and be entered into opportunity drawings for cash prizes. The deadline to submit information online for the free event is Tuesday, May 27 at www.ggcity.org/grads.
Heavy Traffic and Road Closures Memorial Day Weekend
Beginning Friday, May 23 through Monday, May 26, 2025, the 65th Annual Garden Grove Strawberry Festival will take place at Village Green Park, located at 12732 Main Street. During the 4-day event, heavy traffic is anticipated in the immediate area. Motorists are asked to plan accordingly to avoid delays.
Main Street, between Garden Grove Boulevard and Acacia Parkway, will be closed from Friday, May 23, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. through Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 8:00 a.m.
City Hall Closed, No Street Sweeping on Memorial Day
In observance of the Memorial Day holiday, Garden Grove City Hall and the H. Louis Lake Senior Center will be closed on Monday, May 26, 2025. Street sweeping services will not be provided on the holiday and will resume the next day. Trash pick-up will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.

Vietnamese American Community Marks 50 Years of Business Growth and Resilience in Little Saigon, Garden Grove
The community is invited to the “50 Years of Little Saigon’s Resilience,” on Thursday, June 5, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Great Wolf Lodge Southern California, located at 12681 Harbor Boulevard. Bringing together entrepreneurs, community leaders, and civic partners from across Southern California, this milestone gathering honors the remarkable journey and contributions of Vietnamese Americans over the past five decades.
Free Temporary Pump Track Coming to Garden Grove Park for Bike Safety Month
In recognition of Bike Safety Month, the City of Garden Grove will have a temporary pump track available for the public beginning Monday, May 19, 2025 through Sunday, May 25, 2025. The temporary pump track will be located at Garden Grove Park, 9301 Westminster Boulevard (south of Garden Grove Sports and Recreation Center), and will be open daily from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. The temporary pump track is free to the public.
Upcoming Changes to Planning and Building Fees
Effective Tuesday, July 1, 2025, the City of Garden Grove will implement an updated schedule for planning and building fees. The updated fees will apply to all permit applications submitted on or after this date.
Register Today for a Summer of Fun at Camp Grove
Registration is now open for the 2025 “Camp Grove: Fun Under the Sun” summer program for Garden Grove youth ages 5 to 12. The nine-week program runs June 9 through August 8, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Edgar Park, located at 12781 Topaz Street. Camp weeks are limited to a first-come, first-served basis. To register, visit ggcity.org/daycamp.
