Temporary Closures at Garden Grove Medal of Honor Bike and Pedestrian Trail

Beginning Thursday, June 19 through Friday, June 20, 2025, the Garden Grove Medal of Honor Bike and Pedestrian Trail will undergo essential slurry-seal maintenance to enhance trail safety and ride quality. The work will result in temporary closures along the paved path.

Construction will take place over two days:
• June 19 – Between Nelson Street and Stanford Avenue and the adjoining stretch from Stanford Avenue to Nutwood Street
• June 20 – Between Nutwood Street and Lampson Avenue and the adjoining stretch from Lampson Avenue to Brookhurst Street.

Free Summer Concert Series at Eastgate Park, Garden Grove

The City of Garden Grove, in partnership with the Garden Grove Community Foundation, will host six concerts as part of the 2025 Free Summer Concert Series. The concerts will take place on Thursday evenings, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at Eastgate Park, located at 12001 St. Mark Street.

This year’s lineup of bands will showcase a variety of musical genres. The concert schedule is as follows:

City Recognizes Nearly 40 Local College Graduates

On Tuesday, June 10, 2025, the City of Garden Grove recognized nearly 40 local college graduates at the 2025 Garden Grove College Graduates’ Reception. The private reception honored the academic achievements of Garden Grove residents, awarding over $5,000 in opportunity cash prizes, including gift cards, giveaways, and services. Graduates also received local, state, and federal certificates of recognition.

NO Illegal Fireworks in Garden Grove

The City of Garden Grove wants you and your family to have a great 4th of July, but they want you and your neighbors to be safe. If you have a fireworks celebration, use the safe and sane variety which are approved by the California State Fire Marshal and are for sale locally. Please don't use dangerous unapproved fireworks. If you do, you could receive a $1,000 fine. This mission is possible Garden Grove, have fun and be safe! Special thanks to TNT Fireworks.

City Promotes Safe and Sane Firework Use, Warnings of Increased Patrol

As July 4 approaches, the City of Garden Grove, in collaboration with the Garden Grove Police Department and Orange County Fire Authority, reminds the community to take necessary precautions to ensure a safe and memorable celebration. Only safe and sane fireworks bearing the California State Fire Marshal seal may be discharged in Garden Grove on July 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., on private property only.

Join Garden Grove City Council Members for a "Walk & Talk" Around District 5 and 6

Get to know your elected officials and enjoy an active morning with neighbors and friends by joining the Garden Grove City Council for our next two “Walk & Talk” events in City Council District 5 and 6. Council member Yesenia Muñeton will host a “Walk & Talk” on Saturday, June 7, 2025, in District 5, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m, and Council member Ariana Aristegui will host a walk on Saturday, June 14, 2025, in District 6, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Garden Grove Mayor Stephanie Klopfenstein and City Manager Lisa Kim will also participate in the walks.

Deadline Approaching for Local College Grads to Receive Recognition, Win Cash Prizes

Garden Grove residents graduating from a college or university this year are invited to attend the annual Garden Grove College Graduates’ Reception on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, and be entered into opportunity drawings for cash prizes. The deadline to submit information online for the free event is Tuesday, May 27 at www.ggcity.org/grads.
