Nominate Your Front Yard Now for Recognition and Chance to Win Home Depot Gift Card

Nominations for the City of Garden Grove’s home beautification program, Garden Grove Gems, that recognizes residents for their home’s outstanding front yards, take place now through Friday, April 24. From all the nominations received, four will be selected at random to receive $100 Home Depot gift cards. Gift card winners will be announced the week of Monday, April 27. To nominate your home, complete an online application and photo submission at www.ggcity.org/gems.

Garden Grove's Parks and Recreation Guide Offers Summer Programs, Classes and Events

The Summer 2026 Garden Grove Parks and Recreation Guide is now available, and registration for summer classes begins today at gg.city/classes.

The interactive digital guide features a wide variety of programs, classes, activities and special events running from May 1 through Aug. 31. Offerings include youth sports, creative arts, adult activities, fitness classes and more. Registration and payment can be completed online.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to register early to help secure a spot in their preferred classes.

Garden Grove Seniors Invited to Attend the 49th Annual Strawberry Ball

Garden Grove seniors are invited to attend the City of Garden Grove’s H. Louis Lake Senior Center’s 49th Annual Strawberry Ball, a celebration honoring the 2026 Strawberry Ball King and Queen. The event will take place on Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the Garden Grove Community Meeting Center, located at 11300 Stanford Avenue. Tickets are $20 and include dinner, dessert, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, live music, and dancing.

City Of Garden Grove and Garden Grove Tourism Improvement District Officially Launch Grove District Transit

The City of Garden Grove and the Garden Grove Tourism Improvement District (GGTID) today officially launched Grove District Transit, a new shuttle service connecting participating Garden Grove hotels to the Disneyland Resort.

“Garden Grove is a welcoming destination and an important part of the region’s visitor economy,” said Mayor Stephanie Klopfenstein. “With the launch of Grove District Transit, we are improving access for hotel guests and reinforcing Garden Grove as a convenient place to stay while visiting the Disneyland Resort”

Nighttime Storm Drain Repairs to Impact Traffic At Knott Street And Lampson Avenue

The City of Garden Grove will begin nighttime storm drain repairs at the intersection of Knott Street and Lampson Avenue on Sunday, March 29, 2026. Repair work is expected to continue through June 2026 and will result in traffic restrictions in the area.

During construction, northbound Knott Street will be reduced to one lane and Lampson Avenue will be closed to through traffic at the intersection. Work will take place from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday night through Friday morning, to reduce impacts on daytime traffic.

City of Garden Grove to Open Cooling Center March 17

Due to high temperatures, the City of Garden Grove will open a public cooling center on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cooling center is located at the Garden Grove Sports and Recreation Center, 13641 Deodara Drive, in Garden Grove Park.

All ages are welcome to enjoy the center’s air-conditioned accommodations. Visitors will have access to the center’s lobby and restrooms. Food will not be available. No pets are allowed except for service animals.

City of Garden Grove and Garden Grove Tourism Improvement District to Launch Disneyland Resort Shuttle Service

The City of Garden Grove and the Garden Grove Tourism Improvement District (GGTID) will launch a new shuttle service ensuring continued connection from Garden Grove hotels to the Disneyland Resort. Shuttle service will begin the last week of March and will cost a small fee per guest from participating hotels.

“Garden Grove is proud to welcome visitors from across the region and around the world,” said Mayor Stephanie Klopfenstein. “This new shuttle service keeps our hotels connected to the Disneyland Resort while inviting visitors to explore everything Garden Grove has to offer.”
