City Seeking Local College Grads for Recognition

Garden Grove residents graduating from a college or university this year are invited to submit their information for the annual Garden Grove College Graduates’ Reception on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. All attending graduates will be entered into opportunity drawings for cash prizes. The deadline to submit information online for the free event is Tuesday, May 27 at www.ggcity.org/grads.

Garden Grove to Participate in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

On Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the Garden Grove Police Department will participate in the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. The event allows the public to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs. Pills can be disposed of at the Garden Grove Police Department, located at 11301 Acacia Parkway, Garden Grove 92840. The DEA cannot accept liquids, needles, or sharps, only pills or patches.

Micro-Surfacing Project to Begin on Various Garden Grove Streets April 21

Beginning Monday, April 21, 2025 through May 2025, various streets in Garden Grove will undergo rehabilitation, causing temporary traffic delays and construction noise during work hours. Streets include:

• Valley View Street from Garden Grove SR-22 Freeway to Chapman Avenue
• Knott Street from Lampson Avenue to Chapman Avenue
• Brookhurst Street from Hazard Avenue to Westminster Avenue

Garden Grove's Parks and Recreation Guide Offers Summer Programs, Classes and Events

The guide provides a number of programs, classes, activities, and special events through August 31, 2025. City Celebrates Topping Out for New Public Safety Facility

On Tuesday, April 8, the City of Garden Grove, in partnership with developer Edgemoor Infrastructure & Real Estate, design-builder Clark Construction Group, and architect AC Martin, celebrated the topping out for Phase I of the Garden Grove Civic Center Revitalization Project, which includes a new public safety facility for the Garden Grove Police Department and a parking structure.

Nominate Your Front Yard Now for Recognition and Chance to Win Home Depot Gift Card

Nominations for the City of Garden Grove’s home beautification program, Garden Grove Gems, that recognizes residents for their home’s outstanding front yards, take place now through Thursday, April 24. From all the nominations received, four will be selected at random to receive $100 Home Depot gift cards. Gift card winners will be announced the week of Monday, April 28. To nominate your home, complete an online application and photo submission at www.ggcity.org/gems.

April 12 Last Compost Giveaway for 2025

On Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the City of Garden Grove and Republic Services will host the last Compost Giveaway for 2025. Residents can obtain up to six bags of nutrient-rich compost for free, until supplies run out. The event will be held at the Garden Grove Municipal Service Center, located at 13802 Newhope Street. The event is open to Garden Grove residents only. Proof of residency is required.

Get to know your elected officials and enjoy an active morning with neighbors and friends by joining Garden Grove City Council Member Cindy Ngoc Tran for a “Walk & Talk” in District 3, on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Garden Grove Mayor Stephanie Klopfenstein and City Manager Lisa Kim will also join the walk.
