National Night Out

The community is invited to view a special message from the Garden Grove Police Department as we celebrate National Night Out, virtually.

Viewers will meet police department members, and learn about GGPD’s efforts to keep the community safe and the various police units that make up the department.

Centrally located in Orange County, California, the city of Garden Grove (17.8 square miles) is home to over 170,000 residents and is a friendly, spirited, and balanced community rich in diversity—a city with a view to the future.

Garden Grove is the fifth largest city in Orange County and is conveniently located less than one mile from the Disneyland Resort, 12 miles from local beaches, and 30 miles from Downtown Los Angeles. Incorporated June 18, 1956, the city was founded in 1874 by Dr. Alonzo Cook.

Garden Grove Measure O Information

On November 6, 2018, Garden Grove voters passed Measure O - Garden Grove Public Safety/9-1-1 and Vital City Services Measure, authorizing a 1-cent (1%) transaction and use (sales) tax to provide a reliable source of locally-controlled revenue for Garden Grove's public safety and quality-of-life services. Collection of the 1-cent local sales tax began on April 1, 2019.
