There is always something new and exciting happening in the City of Garden Grove. If you see something around town that you want to report, you can do that on the Garden Grove App. A video tells you all about it. The Garden Grove Police Department has outgrown their old building. GGTV3 reporter Angela Cranon has a story about the groundbreaking of a major project that includes a new, modern Police Building, a parking structure and a beautiful new park. A reception was held welcoming Assistant City Manager, Matt West, and Garden Grove has a new business.

The City held a reception for Ursula Luna-Reynosa, the new Director of Economic Development and Housing at the Garden Grove Community Meeting Center. GGTV3 Reporter Angela Cranon has the story. There is always something amazing happening in Garden Grove. The City introduced new Community Development Director, Niki Wetzel during a reception at the Community Meeting Center. The ground was broken for the second phase of Brookhurst Place in the center of town. We share a special story on how the Strawberry Festival Association supports local non-profit organizations who then help people right here in Garden Grove. Plus Garden Grove honors and appreciates our recent college graduates at a special reception just for them. And James Nguyen is a young man with a bright future. He was spotlighted at a Garden Grove City Council meeting after being named a Rise Global Winner for his cancer detecting toothbrush.

Great things are happening in the City of Garden Grove. When our Police Chief, Tom Dare retired, Deputy Chief Amir El-Farra was ready to take over and lead the Department forward. Congratulations Chief El-Farra, and thank you for your service Chief Dare. GGTV3 Reporter Breanna Greenup files this report. And Garden Grove takes care of our seniors. The staff at the H. Louis Lake Senior Center is serving up lunch and a lot of great activities for the mature crowd. Some of the members at the Center also enjoy volunteering to help out. A new era in recreation has arrived at Garden Grove Park! Check out the aviation themed fun and try all of the innovative attractions. The playground along with new pavilions and improved lighting make the park a family friendly destination. And, shining a light on a little problem before it becomes a big one. That's what the Garden Grove Unified School District wants to accomplish with the app, STOPit. With STOPit, students, parents, teachers or just about anyone can anonymously report a problem. GGTV3 Reporter Breanna Greenup has the stories.

The City of Garden Grove is an unexplored island of opportunities. For example we found a ribbon cutting for the Stuart Apartments. This completely renovated apartment building is now helping formerly homeless people to get a roof over their heads. It's part of the City's Comprehensive Strategic Plan to end homelessness. And on the City's Historic Main Street there's a whole lot of shakin' going on. It's the 22nd Annual Elvis Festival! Elvis impersonators of all shapes and sizes, sang, danced and posed like the King of Rock & Roll.

There is always something new and exciting going on in the City of Garden Grove! Recently Gente Market held its Grand Opening on Garden Grove's Historic Main Street. The store carries items from a variety of local artists. Across town on Harbor Boulevard, Raising Cane's cut the ceremonial ribbon and opened a brand new restaurant. Raising Cane's specializes in an irresistible combination of chicken fingers and fries with Texas toast and ice tea. GGTV3 Reporter Breanna Greenup checked out these new additions to the City, and shares the stories. And organics recycling is coming.

The City of Garden Grove recognizes our many heroes. These special people and organizations come in all sizes and shapes, and do a variety of little and big things to make life better here. The people nominated them and the City held a ceremony to honor these people, organizations and their helpful contributions at a celebration of Garden Grove Strong. Plus, US Representative Lou Correa presented a check for $1 million to the City for park improvements. The funding will be used to upgrade three parks in Garden Grove. GGTV3 Reporter Breanna Greenup has these stories.
