You CAN ONLY file an online report if:
- You have access to a valid, functioning e-mail address.
- You are the actual victim of a crime (not a witness, relative, friend, etc.)
- You are over the age of 18
- Who - The Victim is person who is telling the story.
- What - Identifies what is damaged, lost or stolen.
- When - This is the timeframe when the offense occurred.
- Where - The offense location is used to determine jurisdiction.
- How - This is a narrative explaining the Who, What, When and Where. This should explain how the offense happened.
These questions are designed to gather the Victim information, Location, Items, Time, and summary of the element of the offense. During the approval process if there is a question regarding a report that was submitted the Records Specialist will send a Follow up email to person who entered the report.

You can print your temporary report. Upon review of your report, if further investigation of your case is needed, you may be contacted by the assigned Detective.
If you have already filed a police report, either online or in person with a police officer, you can add additional information such as text, missing or stolen item details, video or picture evidence.
**Before Adding More Information to Your Report
Have the following information available before adding more details to your existing police report:
- Report number
- Officer name who filed report
- only if the report was taken by an officer and not filed online
- if you are unsure of the name enter "Unknown"

No, you will need to contact the jurisdiction or police department where the incident occurred for assistance.
Please call 9-1-1 immediately to have an officer dispatched to your location.
Physical Evidence is defined as anything that was left behind such as: fingerprints left behind by the suspect(s), suspect items. Please call the Garden Grove Police Department at (714) 741-5704. An officer will complete the offense report and collect the evidence.

Unfortunately, the temporary incident report is a one-time only printable document, however, once your report has been reviewed and approved, you will receive an email with an attached copy of the official police report.
Yes, if there is no vehicle or suspect information, no injuries and there is no need for a tow truck, you may report a hit and run incident online. If you need an ambulance or a tow truck due to the vehicle damage, please call 9-1-1.
