Current Economic Development Projects


An innovative project in the Garden Grove Civic Center, Cottage Industries features unique eateries and shops within repurposed Craftsman homes. First tenants are:

Cottage Industries is expected to break ground in the fourth quarter of 2022.

Brookhurst Place Phase IIA

Located in OC Koreatown, Brookhurst Place is Garden Grove's largest residential and commercial mixed-use development. Phase IIA will offer 120 new apartment homes.

Construction has commenced and is anticipated to open in June 2025.

Nickelodeon Resort

The proposed Nickelodeon Resort project will occupy a 3.72 acre site on Harbor Boulevard and include 500 guest suites, a lazy river pool, Nick arcade and studio, and more.

Site C - Le Méridien and Kimpton Hotel

Two luxury, 4-star hotels are expected to break ground in the fourth quarter of 2022. Le Méridien by Marriott and one of the largest Kimpton Hotels in the nation will occupy a 4.3 acre site on Harbor Boulevard.

Smallwood Plaza

Located on Historic Main Street, Smallwood Plaza is a 3-story mixed-use project with 4,000 square feet of commercial leasing space and nine residential units.

Pavilion Plaza West

Pavilion Plaza West is currently anchored by Sprouts Farmer's Market. Other businesses coming soon are The Habit, jersey Mike's, and Ulta Beauty.

Completed Projects


Garden Brook Senior Village

Construction is now complete at Garden Brook Senior Village in Koreatown Garden Grove. The multi-story project offers 13,000 square feet of commercial space, 394 senior-living units, and community spaces.

Home2 Suites by Hilton

Located south of the 22 Freeway on Harbor Boulevard, this extended-stay, pet-friendly hotel features 124 hotel rooms, 100 parking spaces, a fitness room, and pool.

SteelCraft Garden Grove

In 2019, SteelCraft Garden Grove opened its doors to unite local eateries with a communal dining space. For current vendors, please visit www.steelcraftlb.com.

Starbucks

In 2017, Starbucks opened a drive-through only location at the intersection of Garden Grove Boulevard and Euclid Street.

Great Wolf Lodge Southern California

In 2016, Great Wolf Lodge, North America's largest family of indoor waterparks, and McWhinney Real Estate Services, opened in Garden Grove. The centerpiece of the all-suite resort is the 100,000 square-feet of indoor waterpark fun. With signature Great Wolf Lodge water rides and attractions, including the thrilling six-story Howlin' Tornado; the amazing Wolf Trail slide, with its 360 degree loop; Slap Tail Pond wave pool and Fort Mackenzie - a multi-level interactive three house with a 1,000 gallon tipping bucket.

The Centre

Completed in 2021, The Centre is a 16-unit project with 14 residential units and two live-work units. The Centre is within walking distance to Historic Downtown Main Street, SteelCraft Garden Grove, and Cottage Industries.

Gardenia

While the development was officially completed in October 2020, Gardenia by Shea Homes' 70 single-family detached residential units sold out by December 2019. Gardenia is located near Garden Grove Boulevard and the 22 Freeway.

7 Leaves Café

Completed in 2021, 7 Leaves Café opened its third location in Garden Grove. It features both a drive-through option as well as indoor dining.

Melia Homes Bria

Completed in 2020, Medlia Homes Bria is a multiple-family residential community that consist of 31 two-and three-story townhomes.

Starlight West Grove Cinemas

With renovations completed in 2020, the Starlight West Grove Cinemas features additional auditoriums, newly designed lobby and restrooms, and new luxury recliner chairs to elevate the movie watching experience.
