Garden Grove TV3 News Report: May 2, 2023
Great things are happening in the City of Garden Grove. When our Police Chief, Tom Dare retired, Deputy Chief Amir El-Farra was ready to take over and lead the Department forward. Congratulations Chief El-Farra, and thank you for your service Chief Dare. GGTV3 Reporter Breanna Greenup files this report. And Garden Grove takes care of our seniors. The staff at the H. Louis Lake Senior Center is serving up lunch and a lot of great activities for the mature crowd. Some of the members at the Center also enjoy volunteering to help out. Amir El-Farra Sworn In as Garden Grove's 14th Police Chief
The Garden Grove Community Meeting Center was packed as Police Chief Amir El-Farra was sworn in and pinned with his new badge. Family, friends, Garden Grove residents and city employees watched the ceremony for the City of Garden Grove's 14th Police Chief. GGTV3 Reporter Breanna Greenup was there and has the story.
Garden Grove Fair Housing Workshop
The community is invited to attend the free Garden Grove Fair Housing Workshop, hosted by the Fair Housing Foundation, on Tuesday, April 11, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., located in Garden Grove City Hall, at 11222 Acacia Parkway.
Learn about fair housing laws; your rights and responsibilities as tenants and landlords; and more!
Reservations are required. Attendees must check in at the information desk located on the 1st floor of City Hall.

A new era in recreation has arrived at Garden Grove Park! Check out the aviation themed fun and try all of the innovative attractions. The playground along with new pavilions and improved lighting make the park a family friendly destination. And, shining a light on a little problem before it becomes a big one. That's what the Garden Grove Unified School District wants to accomplish with the app, STOPit. With STOPit, students, parents, teachers or just about anyone can anonymously report a problem. GGTV3 Reporter Breanna Greenup has the stories.
Garden Grove Swears In New Council and Spotlights Retiring Police Chief
A capacity crowd looked on as the Mayor, one reelected Councilmember and two new Councilmembers were sworn in. The City of Garden Grove welcomed Mayor Steve Jones for his fourth term and returning District 1 Councilmember, George Brietigam for his second. New to the Council are District 3 Councilmember Cindy Tran and District 4 Councilmember Joe DoVinh. The evening also featured a Community Spotlight honoring retiring Police Chief Tom DaRe. Crescent Landing Memory Care Grand Re-Opening
Garden Grove's Crescent Landing celebrated their grand re-opening with a ribbon-cutting and a '20s party. The memory care facility, formerly known as Valley View Memory Care, emphasizes keeping residents active and engaged. The Garden Grove Chamber of Commerce co-hosted the event.
