City to Host Community Meeting on Woodbury Park Revitalization, Expansion
On Thursday, November 2, 2023, at 5:00 p.m., the City will host a community meeting to present the revitalization and expansion project plans for Woodbury Park. The meeting will be held at Woodbury Park, located at 13800 Rosita Place. Neighborhood residents and park users are invited to attend.
Designed by David Volz Design Landscape Architects, Inc., the project plans call for a full-remodel of the 3.8-acre park that includes the expansion of park space by approximately one-half of an acre, with new features added, including a walking trail, outdoor fitness equipment, picnic shelters, a skate spot, parking lot, and more.
The future renovation incorporates ideas from the surrounding community obtained at several multi-lingual community meetings held in 2019 and 2020.
In 2021, the City was awarded a $6 million grant from California’s Proposition 68 Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization Program (SPP), which helps create new parks and recreation opportunities in underserved communities.
The project is tentatively scheduled to break ground in Spring 2024.
