September 26, 2023

On Saturday, September 30, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., the Garden Grove Sanitary District, in partnership with Republic Services, will host a paper shredding and community cleanup day event, offering residents the opportunity to safely shred old documents and properly dispose of bulky items for free. The drop-off location will be at the H. Louis Lake Senior Center’s east parking lot, located at 11300 Stanford Avenue.

Residents may bring up to five boxes of paper for safe and secure on-site shredding, and dispose of unwanted household items, such as bulky items and electronic waste. This will be a self-service event in which residents will be unloading their own items on a first-come, first-served basis, until bins are full. For a list of prohibited items, visit ggcity.org/cleanup-days.

A limited amount of nutrient-rich compost will also be available, supplied by Orange County Waste and Recycling.

Republic Services also provides special collections of bulky items at no charge for single- and multi-family residents. Each household receives up to three bulky item pickups per calendar year and is limited to up to 10 items per pickup. The service is by appointment only by calling (714) 238-2444.
