The City of Garden Grove and developer BN Group broke ground for a 5-story Home2 Suites by Hilton on Thursday, June 27, 2019. The Home2 Suites is the City’s first new hotel development to be located south of the 22 Freeway, and is scheduled to be completed by 2021.
The new construction reflects the growing success of Garden Grove’s tourism district, the Grove District – Anaheim Resort, and the City’s ongoing commitment to providing more resources and amenities to visitors.
Garden Grove Mayor Steve Jones said, “Tourism gives us the opportunity to ‘re-imagine’ our city with new developments, new businesses, new amenities, new housing, and even more ways to make Garden Grove even greater.”
Located in District 6, the extended-stay, pet-friendly hotel will include 124 hotel rooms, 100 parking spaces, and a fitness room and pool. The studio and 1-bedroom suites will offer ergonomic workspace and personal storage. In-suite kitchens will include a dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, utensils, and real china place settings for six.
Bui Nguyen, Chairman and CEO of the BN Group, expressed his gratitude to the Mayor and City Council for making the project a reality. Speaking about the BN Group’s expansion of their hospitality operations, he said, “There is no better place than Garden Grove, home to America’s largest Vietnamese-American community.”
