Funding Available for Home Repairs
The City of Garden Grove will open a new round of funding for its Home Repair Program on Monday, December 1, 2025, offering grants of up to $5,000 to qualified low-income Garden Grove homeowners for minor home improvements. The grants do not need to be repaid to the City.
The Home Repair Program supports minor health, safety, and accessibility-related improvements. Homeowners must contribute at least $500 towards the project, and major repairs are not eligible. Projects that exceed the $5,000 grant amount may be considered on a case-by-case basis, depending on the homeowner’s ability to fund the remaining costs.
Eligible interior and exterior repairs include, but are not limited to, window replacement, electrical repairs, pest control, exterior painting, plumbing repairs, heater replacement (HVAC), handicap accessibility modifications, and repairs to correct building or safety code violations. Applicants must meet all program income and application requirements to qualify. Due to limited funding, approximately 10 eligible applicants will be selected through a blind raffle.
