September 5, 2024

On Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., the City of Garden Grove and Garden Grove Sanitary District, in collaboration with Republic Services, will host a community cleanup day, offering residents the opportunity to dispose of bulky items for free. The drop-off location will be at the City’s H. Louis Lake Senior Center, located at 11300 Stanford Avenue. The event is open to Garden Grove residents only. Proof of residency is required.

Residents may bring unwanted bulky items, such as non-refrigerant appliances, furniture, mattresses, carpets, and electronic waste, including printers, computers, and televisions. This will be a self-service event in which residents will be unloading their own items, on a first-come, first-served basis, until bins are full.

Items not accepted include hazardous waste, batteries, LED lights, refrigerators, freezers, AC units, concrete, dirt, and tires. For a complete list of banned items, visit ggcity.org/cleanup-days.

A limited amount of nutrient-rich compost will also be available, supplied by Orange County Waste and Recycling.

The final cleanup event for 2024 takes place on Saturday, November 9, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at the Garden Grove Municipal Service Center, located at 13802 Newhope Street.

Residents are also encouraged to use Republic Services’ bulky items collections service at no charge. Each household receives up to three bulky item pickups per calendar year and limited up to 10 items per pickup. To schedule a pickup, call (714) 238-2444.
