Murder Suspect from Ohio Arrested in Garden Grove

NARRATIVE:
On December 28, 2018 at 2:14 PM, officers from the Garden Grove Police Department were sent to the above location reference one of the employees fighting with a subject in the drive through. Upon the officers’ arrival, they located the involved parties and detained a male subject identified as Jeffrey Colin Perry. During the initial investigation, officers discovered Perry committed a robbery by forcibly grabbing cash from the possession of a Del Taco employee. When Perry attempted to flee, another employee tackled him and the two struggled until police arrived. As part of the investigation, officers conducted a warrant check on Perry and discovered he had an outstanding warrant for murder out of Gahanna, Ohio.
Gahanna Police Detectives were notified of the arrest. Garden Grove Police personnel were advised that Perry had been in possession of the homicide victim’s vehicle, a black 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Ohio license plate ENW8600. Officers searched the area, however it was not located.
Perry was later transported to the Orange County Jail and booked for robbery and on the murder warrant.
