SUBJECT: Fatal Traffic Collision

LOCATION OF OCCURRENCE: Brookhurst St. / Crosby Ave.

DATE/TIME OF OCCURRENCE: 11/08/2018 at 8:58 P.M.

The Garden Grove Police and Fire Department were dispatched to a traffic collision that occurred in the area of Brookhurst St. and Crosby Ave. involving a 22-year-old male pedestrian and two vehicles. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics and was not transported to the hospital. The initial driver involved stopped and attempted to render aid to the pedestrian. The second driver that collided with the pedestrian fled the scene northbound Brookhurst St. The vehicle can only be described as a black sedan with possible front end damage.

Members of the Garden Grove Traffic Unit responded to the collision to investigate. The driver who remained at the scene was evaluated by officers and showed no signs of impairment. The investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the collision.

The name of the pedestrian is not being released until the next of kin can be notified.
