Anand Rao
Director of Information Technology
Anand Rao joined the City of Garden Grove on September 6, 2000 as an Information Systems Analyst. In 2007, he was promoted to Information Systems Manager. Following an 18-year career with the Information Technology Department, formerly known as the Information Systems Division, Anand was appointed to Information Technology Director on October 1, 2018.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems in the College of Business from Cal Poly Pomona; MBA with emphasis in Information Technology from the University of California, Irvine; and a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
An avid community volunteer, he is a current member and past president of the Kiwanis Club of Greater Garden Grove; current member and charter president of the Kiwanis Club of Orange County. His involvement in professional organizations include the Municipal Information Systems Association of California (MISAC), and MISAC Southern Chapter.
