Special Resource Team
The City of Garden Grove Police Department Special Resource Team (SRT) was created in 2016 as a citywide effort to address the rapidly growing concerns of homelessness within the city. The SRT is staffed by four specially-trained police officers and a Sergeant serving the homeless community and those affected with mental health disorders. They lead daily street outreach, connect unsheltered individuals to supportive services and housing resources, and help advancing the city’s homeless assistance programs to effective implementation through partnerships with BeWell Orange County (BeWell OC), the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), and CalOptima Health.
