Request #9535
Good evening,
To improve the safety of drivers and pedestrians, I wanted to request the installation of a stoplight and crosswalk on Euclid St between the streets of Orangewood and Katella. The distance between Orangewood and Katella is approximately 1 mile. A crosswalk is needed as pedestrians often need to cross the other side whether for work, school, or leisure. There is an intermediate school at the corner of Orangewood and Euclid where many students walk down Euclid and the cars are going extremely fast due to a lack of stop lights. A crosswalk and stoplight in front of the El Dorado Mobile Home Park would be beneficial as this is an OC bus stop and school bus stop where many young children are present near the fast driving cars. Not only this, but I am hesitant to walk towards the crosswalk on Katella as I and multiple others have been verbally harassed by individuals living or parked on the empty lot of what was Walmart Neighborhood market and from the Chevron gas station. Unfortunately, jaywalking is not the safest option due to excessive accidents trying to make left turns from the El Dorado Mobile Home Park.
