Request #9627
Dear Garden Grove City Clerk's Office,
Pursuant to the California Public Records Act (California Government Code
ยงยง 6250 et seq.), I am writing to request copies of specific documents from
your agency. Specifically, I am seeking:
1. Copies of all employment case demand letters received by your agency
from attorneys claiming damages on behalf of their clients, with the
personally identified information redacted, for issues related to:
- Discrimination
- Harassment
- Wrongful termination
- Workers' compensation
- Wage and hour claims
Please limit this request to demand letters received within the last three
years. If this time frame is too broad, I am open to narrowing it further
upon your suggestion.
2. A comprehensive list of all civil litigation to which the agency is or
was a party within the last five years (from May 1, 2021 to May 1, 2024)
This list should include:
- Internal complaints filed by employees
- State-level filings
- Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) cases
- District court filings
For each entry, please provide the case number, the names of the parties
involved, the nature of the complaint, and the current status or outcome of
the case.
*I request that the documents be provided in electronic format if
available. If only hard copies are available, please inform me of this in
your response. *
As this request is made in the public interest, contributing to the
accountability and transparency of your agency and not for commercial use,
I request that all fees for search and copying be waived. Should there be
any potential charges for providing these records, please provide a
detailed estimate of such charges and the basis for them before proceeding.
I look forward to your compliance within the time frame specified by
California law for responding to PRA requests. Please contact me at
hangcngu@usc.edu to arrange access to these records or to discuss any
issues related to this request. Please also feel free to contact me with
any questions with regard to this request.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Hang Nguyen
