Request #7500

PUBLIC

Please disregard request # 7498 submitted a few minutes ago. This is my new request.
My name is Claudia Hernandez and I am an Investigator with the Orange County Public Defenders office. This letter is to request access to records in the possession of the City of Garden Grove, Public Works Department/Traffic Division. Pursuant to Public Records Act GOVT. CODE §§ 6250-6276.48, we are entitled to request access and copies to “Records” including all communications related to public business “regardless of physical form or characteristics, including any writing, picture , sound, or symbol, whether paper…, magnetic or other media.” Under above stated law, access should be given immediately during business hours. Your agency has 10 days to decide whether access to such public records will be released. If your agency declines to release record access, your agency must justify the withholding of any record demonstrating that the record is exempt or that the public interest in confidentiality outweighs public interest in disclosure. (§ 6255)

The records I am requesting are “The As-built” for cross streets Magnolia and Mays in the City of Garden Grove.. I would also wish to request information regarding the maintenance of all the traffic lights (including ‘phasing’ sequence) and street lights located at Magnolia and Mays in the city of Garden Grove from July 16, 2020 through July 19, 2020. The information needed is to explain how long a red traffic/signal light signal remains before turning green and vice versa and also how long a green traffic/signal light remains before the "Don't walk" hand appears at a cross walk. I would like these documents certified if possible. I wish to thank you for your prompt attention to this matter and I thank you for your consideration. Please do not hesitate to contact me at: (657) 251-8637 and I will be happy to further explain my request.

Sincerely,
Orange County Public Defender
