The City is in receipt of your Public Records Act request. However, as written it is not possible to determine what records you seek. In an effort to assist you with your request, the City is interpreting your request as seeking any records reflecting or related to the separation of any peace officer from employment with the City of Garden Grove.
The City has conducted a reasonable search for public records that are responsive to your request (as interpreted above) and has determined that responsive records do exist. However, some of the responsive records are exempt from disclosure and will not be produced. Specifically, peace officer personnel records are exempt from disclosure pursuant to Cal. Penal Code 832.7, Cal. Evidence Code sections 1043 – 1047, and Cal. Gov. Code 6254(k). That said, and in an effort to provide you with records and information in the spirit of the intent of the Public Records Act, the City is providing you with the attached document which reflects all officers that have separated from employment with the City of Garden Grove during the past year. Because the reason for separation constitutes confidential personnel information, that information is not included on the attached document.
