Hello,

Under the California Public Records Act, I am requesting the following records:

Electronic records or information detailing the total number Uniform Crime Reporting Part 1 crimes reported in Garden Grove between and including Jan. 1, 2016 and Dec. 31, 2016 (the 2016 calendar year). The Register is also requesting information or records that list and categorize the total number of Part 1 crimes by the following types: murder/homicide, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, larceny/theft, motor vehicle theft, and arson.

I request that the city respond as required by Government Code Section 6253. If the city claims the right to withhold any record, or portion of any record, please describe with specificity the basis for withholding the information.

If multiple versions of the data are available, I would prefer electronic or scanned copies sent via email, Dropbox, another online means of transmission or CD. The Register requests a waiver of any fees associated with processing this request.

Please respond within the 10 days allotted under the Act, and let me know before processing this request if you believe the fees may exceed $10.
