Request #2303

PUBLIC

Request is to seek information if residential codes do, or do not, exist within regards to outside lighting that is installed/used in residential zones. I have not been able to locate anything responsive to my concern within the Residential Zone Codes short list or anything within the city's Municipal Code.

My reason is so I know how to next proceed regarding my next door neighbor. They just completed an add-on in their backyard, right along my property line, and for whatever reason they felt incumbent to install a high-powered motion activated flood light along the side of the new addition, right on the property line, that goes off when I stand in my own home at my sliding door. The lights are directed over into my property and it's a problem.

Thank you for guidance regarding any applicable codes.
