Beginner Dog Obedience
This is the first step in teaching dog obedience. We teach the basics, sit, down, stay, then we move into walking on leash without pulling, go to a mat, touch, impulse control, and focus games. Please plan to get to class early. Please do not feed your dog prior to class. Plan to bring high value treats to class. You need to use a flat bucket collar or a martingale for this obedience class. No dogs with aggressive history.

Notes | Please bring the following with you: Bait Bag, Vaccine record, Dogs favorite toy, Poop bags, Dog's regular leash. No Flexi retractable leash allowed. If you have a 2-4 foot leash please bring that, if not I will have one for you to borrow. Starting the 2nd week of class please plan to bring a dog mat, small throw rug or a towel that you can put on the grass. And a harness that the dog has never worn before for walking on a loose leash if interested in one of the loose leash walking exercises. Please plan to get to class early. By getting to class a little early you can get your dog acclimated to the new surrounding environment. Please do not feed your dog prior to class. Plan to bring high value treats to class such as chicken, leftover steak, hot dogs, or cheese. Something that your dog really likes but only gets on occasion and some of their regular food or not as high value. Also, bring some light colored treats (one example is string cheese) because when we throw the treat out, light colored treats are easier for the dog to see in the grass. You need to use a flat bucket collar or a martingale for this obedience class. No dogs with aggressive history. |
