Buca di Beppo Sets World Record
First came a table, followed by history. Both
were set on March 12, 2010 at the Buca di Beppo restaurant on InternationalWEST's famed Harbor Boulevard, as the restaurant broke
the Guinness World Record for the largest bowl of pasta.
Curious onlookers gathered outside the restaurant entrance as a nearly 20-foot diameter pasta bowl was built and filled with a whopping 13,780 pounds of spaghetti, along with a healthy dose of marinara sauce, accompanied by giant forks and spoons. The Italian feast easily beat the former world record of 9,200 pounds.
A visit from the Mayor of Garden Grove, the Honorable William Dalton, topped off the festivities.
But don't worry—the pasta didn't go to waste. It was donated to a local farmer to be made into pig feed. Additionally, over the next year, Buca di Beppo will donate 10,000 pounds of boxed pasta to shelters across the nation.
With all of Buca's many restaurants, the InternationalWEST locale was chosen for its key location, just one mile from the Disneyland Resort, and proximity to other major Southern California attractions.

$900,000 Makeover Underway for InternationalWEST's Main Thoroughfare
One of Garden Grove's and
InternationalWEST's main thoroughfares, Harbor Boulevard, is undergoing a $919,000 makeover to improve its quality, durability, and
overall look. All are important features for the millions of annual visitors who travel on Harbor Boulevard to arrive at InternationalWEST,
and two miles further north to the Disneyland Resort.
The project, scheduled for completion in time for the busy 2010 summer tourism season, will stretch from Garden Grove Boulevard to Chapman Avenue.
The work includes reconstructing pavement areas, curb and gutter, sidewalk and median curb, and new traffic striping and raised pavement markers.
Access to all InternationalWEST businesses will be maintained during the construction period to avoid any inconveniences to patrons.
The project is funded through federal and Measure M funding.

Las Vegas to Host ICSC RECON and InternationalWEST
Representatives from the City of Garden Grove's Agency for Community Development join the largest gathering of retail real
estate professionals worldwide for the International Conference of Shopping Centers (ICSC) in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The four-day event features educational sessions on retail and economic development issues, a 240,000 square-foot Trade Expo featuring product and service vendors, and a two-million square-foot Leasing Mall showcasing leading retailers, developers, leasing agents, brokers, and public sector professionals. ICSC estimates that approximately 25 percent of all shopping center development projects are the result of this annual convention.
This high-profile convention provides an excellent opportunity for the City to present a visual display with informative literature about the International WEST concept to potential developers. They will share a booth with development partner McWhinney Enterprises.
