On Friday, August 16, 2019, at 8:00 a.m., the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) will begin providing fire and emergency medical services to the City of Garden Grove. The 911 system, to call or text for emergencies, will remain the same.
The OCFA will provide for all personnel and administration, emergency response units and equipment, including vehicle depreciation and replacement, routine station maintenance, fire prevention (plan check reviews, fire inspections, and permits), and community fire education. Garden Grove Fire Department fire fighters will become OCFA fire fighters. Garden Grove will fall under Division 1 of the OCFA as Battalion 11.
