GGPD Launches New Community Emergency Response Team Webpage

September 23, 2020

The Garden Grove Police Department (GGPD) announces the launch of a new Garden Grove CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) webpage and web address: ggcity.org/cert. Garden Grove CERT is a volunteer organization trained in disaster preparedness and life-saving skills.

The new site offers a closer look at Garden Grove CERT training and duties through photos, video, and information. Volunteers can sign up for the program through an online request form.

Over the last 16 years, the Garden Grove CERT program has provided Garden Grove residents and business owners with the knowledge and skills to prepare for, respond to, and recover from a disaster. Volunteers are certified in CPR and first aid, and can assist first responders in the event of an emergency.

To become a member, volunteers must be a Garden Grove resident or business owner, 18 years of age or older, and complete a 20-hour training academy administered by the GGPD. Training academies are held twice a year.
