Next Wednesday, June 2, at 6:00 p.m., the City of Garden Grove will begin taking registrations for the Fall 2021 Tiny Tots and Kare Bears preschool program. Registration will be facilitated by an in-person lottery system, located at the Garden Grove Community Meeting Center, at 11300 Stanford Avenue. To be eligible, children must be toilet trained, and 3 and 4 years old respectively by September 1, 2021.
Attendees must wear a face covering and practice safe social distancing. Only one parent or legal guardian per family may attend. No children permitted.
The lottery registration is only open to Garden Grove residents who must bring the child’s birth certificate and two of the following documents to provide proof of their residency: current utility bill; valid driver license or state issued identification; current mortgage or lease agreement; or property tax statement.
Cost for Kare Bears (age 3) for the first 17-week semester, running Tuesday, August 24 through Tuesday, December 14, is $330. Cost for Tiny Tots (age 4) for the first 17-week semester, running Monday, August 23 through Wednesday, December 15, is $495. Payment for both programs is required at the time of registration.
Kare Bears sessions are held every Tuesday and Thursday, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and sessions for Tiny Tots are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Both programs are held at Edgar Park, located at 12781 Topaz Street.
Kare Bears and Tiny Tots teaches pre-K youth learning and socialization skills, promoting personal growth and development. Educational activities and playtime help build a sense of self-worth, confidence, and respect through safe and positive experiences.
