City to Open Cooling Center During Upcoming Heatwave

In response to the excessive high temperatures predicted through the weekend, the City of Garden Grove’s H. Louis Lake Senior Center will open as a public cooling center this Friday through Sunday, July 6 through 8. Hours will be: Friday, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; and Sunday, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The center is located at 11300 Stanford Avenue.

All ages are welcome to enjoy the center’s air-conditioned accommodations. Food will not be available, but visitors are welcome to bring their own meals and dine inside the center.

The City’s cooling center is activated on high heat days when forecasted temperatures reach or exceed 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
