New Awareness Campaign to ‘Plan-Build-Beautify’ Properties Kicks Off with Social Media Giveaway
Today, the City of Garden Grove launches a new 3-month, multi-language awareness campaign, highlighting information and services from the Community Development Department’s Planning, Building and Safety, and Code Enforcement divisions. Themed “Plan–Build–Beautify,” the campaign kicks off with a social media giveaway to win a 48-quart Igloo cooler, $10 Home Depot gift card, and DIY and City items.
“The City wants people to know that if they’re planning to build in Garden Grove, or are committed to keeping our city beautiful, the City’s Community Development Department has information, resources, and bilingual experts at their disposal,” said Garden Grove Mayor Steve Jones.
“It’s important for homeowners and business owners to understand the fundamentals of building in Garden Grove to ensure the integrity and safety of their construction projects. And, maintaining properties in good condition protects the community’s health, welfare, attractiveness, and property values,” said Community Development Director Niki Wetzel.
The campaign will roll out in phases, starting with Planning in April, Building and Safety in May, and Code Enforcement in June. Topics will range from how to submit plans using the GG Ready online tool, to addressing graffiti on public and private properties.
To kick-off the campaign, the City will host a social media giveaway where followers of the City’s Instagram page, @gardengrovecityhall, have the opportunity to win a 48-quart Igloo cooler filled with must-have tools for homeowners, City items, and a $10 Home Depot gift card. The giveaway will take place from Monday, April 15 through Tuesday, April 30, with the winner announced on Wednesday, May 1 over Instagram.
